An Attractive Smile Reflects a Healthy Life!

Attractive, natural-looking teeth help us look and feel our best. The loss or damage of even a single tooth can have a considerable negative impact on everyday life and self-esteem. Diagram of dental implant in bottom teethPeople lose their teeth for many reasons: dental decay, trauma, systemic diseases and genetics. A missing tooth can lead to bone loss and shifting of teeth, causing an unstable bite, and can damage jaw joints, jaw muscles and other teeth. You may no longer be able to eat many of the foods you enjoy or become self-conscious about your appearance or smile. Michael Drone Dentistry & Prosthodontics is recognized as a leader in implant dentistry and provides many dental solutions to replace a missing tooth or restore a severely damaged tooth.

Options for a Single Missing Tooth or Damaged Tooth

If you are missing one tooth or your tooth is severely damaged and cannot be saved, Michael Drone Dentistry & Prosthodontics provides a variety of dental solutions for your oral health. The options for a single tooth replacement are:
•  Dental Implant: A dental implant replaces the missing root of the tooth and the prosthetic tooth is secured to the dental implant. A dental implant is firmly anchored into the jaw bone and is well tolerated by our bodies. Restoring your missing tooth with a dental implant does not affect any adjacent teeth
•  Dental Bridge: A dental bridge literally "bridges the gap" left by a missing tooth. A bridge can consist of one to three artificial teeth held in place by dental crowns on adjacent teeth
•  Removable Partial Denture: A traditional removable partial denture is a combination of metal and plastic and is held in place by wire clips. A removable partial denture can be removed and reinserted by the patient. Some of your natural teeth may need dental crowns for the removable partial denture to function effectively

Options for Missing Several Teeth or Damaged Teeth

If you are missing several teeth, Michael Drone Dentistry & Prosthodontics provides a variety of dental solutions for your oral health. The options for multiple teeth replacement are:
•  Dental Implant: A dental implant replaces the missing roots of the teeth and the prosthetic teeth or denture is secured to the dental implant. A dental implant is firmly anchored into the jaw bone and is well tolerated by our bodies. Restoring your missing tooth with a dental implant does not affect any adjacent teeth

A removable partial denture can be removed and reinserted by the patient. Some of your natural teeth may need dental crowns for the removable partial denture to function effectively
•  Denture: A denture requires the removal of all your teeth, replacing them with plastic teeth and gums. Implants can be used to stabilize the denture or it can be attached permanently to the implants

Benefits of Dental Implants

•  durable and can last a lifetime with proper care and good oral hygiene
•  minimally invasive procedure, since adjacent healthy teeth are not affected
•  protect your natural bone and strengthen your jaw bone
•  provide stability and comfort for loose dentures or unstable removable partial dentures
•  allow you to enjoy life without worrying about your teeth

Dental Implant Procedure

Prosthodontists, oral surgeons and periodontists are the most specialized dental professionals in implant dentistry. Our team of implant specialists will evaluate your oral health concerns and will provide you with the best implant solution. Most dental implant procedures are performed in the dental office using local anesthetic or sedation, and only take 30–60 minutes for one implant or 2–3 hours for multiple implants. When you are comfortable, the surgeon makes a small incision in the gum tissue to reveal the bone, creates space using special instruments, and gently inserts the titanium implant. After the implant is stable in the bone a custom implant abutment and implant prosthesis will be designed and secured to your dental implant. You will see our implant restorative options are virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth and provide a long-lasting functional outcome.
